We’re packing a lot into a short trip here, so feel free to tweak it to match your travel style—whether you’re in the mood to linger longer at your favourite spots or keep things fast-paced. 

Starting in the vibrant capital, Zagreb, and ending in the historic gem of Dubrovnik, this itinerary will take you through the best of Croatia’s diverse landscapes and cultural highlights.

We’ve crafted a detailed day-by-day guide, complete with insider travel tips to help you make the most of your trip. Ready? Idemo! 

Days 1-2: Zagreb

 

Must-Do Activities:

  • Take the Zagreb Funicular: The shortest funicular ride in the world, offering quick access between the Lower and Upper Towns.

  • Trg bana Josipa Jelačić: The central square of Zagreb, a great place to soak up the local atmosphere and admire historic architecture.

  • Get Štrukli for dinner: Try this traditional Croatian dish at La Štruk, a local favourite known for its delicious baked or boiled štrukli.

  • Explore the Upper Town (Gornji Grad): Wander the cobblestone streets and visit St. Mark’s Church with its iconic tiled roof.

Days 3-4: Istria (Rovinj & Pula)

 

Rovinj (Day 3)

  • Explore Rovinj Old Town: Wander through the narrow cobblestone streets and climb up to St. Euphemia’s Church for breathtaking views of the Adriatic.

  • Golden Cape Forest Park (Zlatni Rt): A perfect spot for a nature walk or a refreshing swim in one of the secluded coves.

 


 

Pula (Day 4)

Days 5-6: Plitvice Lakes National Park & Zadar

 

Plitvice Lakes (Day 5)

  • Hiking & Nature: Although swimming isn’t allowed in Plitvice, the network of cascading lakes and waterfalls is a sight to behold. Follow Trail C for a 4-hour loop that covers the park’s highlights.

 


 

Zadar (Day 6)

  • Sea Organ & Sun Salutation: These unique art installations combine nature and architecture, making sunset here truly unforgettable.

  • Old Town Stroll: Discover Roman ruins, medieval churches, and charming squares.

 

Food Tip: Try Martinac for an authentic vibe and gourmet bites.

Day 7: Šibenik

Travel Tip: If you decide to add an extra day to experience more nature. stay overnight in Skradin, a charming village with easy access to Krka National Park. 

Food Tip: Dine at Michelin-recommended restaurant Pelegrini. It’s well known as one of the top gourmet spots in the area. 

Days 8-9: Split & Trogir

 

Split (Day 8)

  • Diocletian’s Palace: Explore the ancient Roman palace-turned-living city. Don’t miss the climb up the bell tower of St. Domnius Cathedral for epic views.

  • Riva Promenade: Grab a gelato and stroll along the waterfront.

  • Marjan Hill: Take a walk or rent a bike to explore this lush hill that offers fantastic views of Split and the surrounding islands.

  • Walking Tour: This small town is packed with history and interesting facts. We recommend a walking tour to experience the true impact. 

 

Food Tip: Head to Nevera in Split for our favourite seafood on the coast.

Travel Tip: Park your car outside the old town and explore Trogir on foot. The narrow streets are best experienced without traffic, and many areas are pedestrian-only. 

Days 10-11: Hvar & Pakleni Islands

 

Hvar Town (Day 9)

  • Fortica Fortress: Hike up for a panoramic view of Hvar Town and the surrounding islands.

  • Beach Time: Head to Pokonji Dol, a scenic beach near Hvar Town with a charming lighthouse and clear waters, perfect for a relaxing swim.

  • Riva Promenade: Take a leisurely stroll along Hvar’s lively waterfront lined with cafes, restaurants, and yachts. It’s the perfect spot to people-watch or enjoy a sunset drink by the sea. 

 


 

Pakleni Islands (Day 10)
